short and long file name issues ?

on a tester's pc (no dev tools) creating a zip had several messages along lines of

"this folder already contains a file named 'Test\ABCDEF~1.XYZ'"

If I look thru explorer then I can see for above example there are files called

    ABCDEF~1.XYZ

    ABCDEFG.XYZ

    ABCDEFGHIJKL.XYZ

If I look thru DIR /X in Cmd

it shows the only one with a shortname is

    ABCDEF~2.XYZ    ABCDEFGHIJKL.XYZ

    Hi,

Yes it would seem that you do have some file name issues.

However its not clear what if anything this has to do with the #Zip library which is not mentioned.  The library does have a limit on entry name lengths but this is 64 KBytes so has there are no issues with the windows paths for #Zip in tems of length.

In short there is insufficient detail to pass any pertinent comments on your posting with regard to any issues.

Hint:  Its a developer library so classes used and or code snippets or other detail sufficient to determine whats going on are required.

    Cheers, -jr-
